About

The person behind
the archive.

I'm Fadlelmula Ali. I work in technology, collect perfume and books, and write to make sense of what I notice.

This site began as a reaction to the portfolio. A portfolio is a performance of competence: selected highlights, arranged to look inevitable. It is useful for a job search and almost useless as a record of a life.

I wanted somewhere to keep the rest — the things I am reading, the objects I use every day, the arguments I keep having with myself, the work that is still half-built. The seven worlds are the structure that made that possible without turning the site into a pile of posts.

I care about software that is quiet, design that earns its details, and writing that says what it means. I am suspicious of anything that promises to optimise a life without asking what the life is for.

Why this site exists

The archive has three jobs. It is a professional record, a personal collection, and a place to think in public. Those jobs overlap, but they are not the same. Keeping them together means the site can be honest in a way that a portfolio or a social profile cannot.

The structure is deliberately opinionated. If you disagree with it, that is useful. The point is not to build a neutral container. It is to build one that makes the work easier to see.

How it is built

The site is built with Astro and TypeScript, deployed to Cloudflare, with content stored as typed Markdown until the private dashboard arrives. It is designed to be fast, accessible, and readable without JavaScript. The full architecture is documented in the repository.
